About braces
Braces are small brackets fixed to your teeth and joined by a wire. Your dentist adjusts the wire at regular visits, and the steady, gentle pressure slowly moves your teeth. Braces can treat crowding, gaps, protruding front teeth and many bite problems.
Most treatment takes between 18 months and 3 years, depending on how much your teeth need to move. Teenagers and adults can both have braces.
